UBUNTU aims to be a global ports, marine & civil consulting engineering firm that provides strategic consulting, integrated with practical design and cost effectiveness, to clients in the ports, marine & civil engineering sectors. We call on decades of project and business experience to provide our clients informed advice and ensure strategic, practical, commercially oriented solutions.
We are based in Stellenbosch, South Africa. Research/ studies/ design related work is performed in South Africa at South African rates. We are therefore perfectly aligned to assist clients or consultants based in the Gulf or European countries with rates more competitive than their local rates. All meetings are performed online unless requested differently by our esteemed clients. In addition, the CSIR, with its research and physical modelling capabilities is also based in Stellenbosch.
Our projects typically are linked to privately or publicly owned ports associated with the imports and/ or exports of commodities; fishing harbours; marina developments; stand alone type export facilities linked to exports of dry bulk products in the mining industry (pit-to-port) as well as masterplanning associated with these. In addition we cover port-associated as well as general civil engineering studies and design.
UBUNTU partners with various subcontractors with whom good relations have been forged. These include the CSIR, SA Weather Services, bathymetrical and topographical survey companies, port economists, urban designers, traffic planners, aerial photographers, seismic surveyors, geotechnical boring, marine environmentalists, structural designers, civil engineers, etc.
We have experience working around the African coastline, Indian Ocean Islands and the Gulf countries. Our experience in Europe and the Americas is limited. In order to expand our global footprint we welcome projects from these areas.
